Dr Smith is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Medical Association. He enjoys participating in the education and training of junior and future surgeons, and has an interest in all developments in the field of orthopaedic surgery – whether it be through prosthetic joints, robotics or other new surgical methods.
Dr Smith sees private and public patients in his rooms at Orthopaedics ACT in Woden. He also consults at Lonsdale Street Medical Practice in Braddon, and runs a regular orthopaedic clinic at Canberra Hospital.
Personal Assistant to Dr Smith, Libby Dolan has worked in medical administration in the ACT for over 30 years – the last 5 years at Orthopaedics ACT and the last 3 as PA to Dr Smith, and brings a friendly and caring personality to the role. Dr Smith and Libby have built a professional working relationship focusing on first class patient diagnosis and care.

About Dr Damian Smith
Dr Smith grew up in Canberra and attended St Edmund’s College, and was an Australian representative AIS gymnast whilst at school. A fractured elbow in Year 12 led him towards a career as a surgeon with particular interest in patient outcomes.
Dr Smith is a graduate of the University of Sydney. He completed his orthopaedic training in 2008 after working across a range of rural and metropolitan locations. Following which he was then selected to train in Australia and the United Kingdom in internationally recognised fellowships in hip and knee joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery and paediatric orthopaedics.
