Educational Services for Our Patients

In our commitment to ongoing education, and our belief that patients can positively impact their surgical outcomes we offer Joint Replacement Information Sessions (JRIS) . These sessions provide information relevant to both the patient and their carer. It looks at the three stages of joint replacement:

  • What you can do prior to surgery;

  • What to expect in hospital; and

  • What you need to plan for when you return home post-surgery.

The 2-hour seminar is conducted by an Orthopaedics ACT clinic nurse and a physiotherapist, who are happy to answer any of your questions. Afternoon tea is provided at no cost to our patients, however as seating is limited please ensure that you register. And if you are unable to attend please let us know.

The remaining 2019 dates are:

  • Friday 9th August

  • Friday 6th September

  • Friday 4th October

  • Friday 1st November

  • Friday 29th November

To register for one of our free joint replacement workshops please speak with the administration team working with your surgeon or email

From time to time we partner with industry associations, such as Arthritis ACT, to run community education sessions.
